Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. Hello everyone! How are you? How was your week? Mine dragged on a bit (I blame the weather and the constant darkness) but I went to see Jodi Picoult on her UK tour on Wednesday, which was great. I’ll tell you all about it in my next post so keep your eyes peeled! 🙂
Waterstones were lovely enough to send me a copy of Jodi’s book before the event, which I’m really excited about, especially after hearing where the idea came from and how much research went into writing it. Judging by the reviews it’s going to be a brilliant read!
I also bought a copy of Miranda Hart’s new book, which I’ve been dying to read for months. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love BBC’s Miranda, and seeing that the show officially ends this year after two Christmas specials, the book will be a nice memento. (If you’re looking for a good bargain, the book is currently £9 in Tesco stores!)
And last but not least, I got a gorgeous proof copy of Oh Yeah, Audrey and a Breakfast at Tiffany’s DVD, the film which inspired the book, from Abrams and Chronicle. They had a Twitter giveaway going on last week and I won the grand prize! I watched the film last night so I’m ready to start the book… can’t wait!
