Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. Hello everyone and happy Sunday! How are you? I hope you’re all enjoying the bank holiday weekend! 🙂 What have you got planned for tomorrow?
I’m still trying to take it easy as my ankle hasn’t fully recovered yet so meeting a friend for lunch (and maybe stopping by our local charity shop on the way back) is my only plan for tomorrow. BUT! I’ve already tweeted about this a couple of days ago but wanted to ask you again in case someone missed it: I might be able to get two tickets for the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals on Saturday, 31 May. Would anyone like to join me? My friends don’t really like the show but I don’t want to go on my own or drag them along and watch them suffer. 😀 I’d rather go with someone who likes it and wants to go. Anyway, let me know!
I only have one new book to show you this week – it’s actually from last Thursday but I forgot to take it out of my bag and I already scheduled last week’s post when I realised I forgot to show this to you. I met Zarina for a cup of tea last week (the day after World Book Night) and since she was a World Book Night giver and I ADORE Jane Fallon, she gave me a copy of Getting Rid of Matthew. I’ve already read this book ages ago (literally) but can’t remember much about the story apart from the fact that I was probably too young to understand or appreciate it at the time. A re-read is definitely in order, I think!
Thank you so much for the book, Z!
