Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. The girls post a new top ten list each week that one of them will answer and everyone is welcome to join in. This week, we’re discussing authors – ones we love so much that we’d buy anything that was written by them, regardless of the genre or what it’s about.
Well, here’s my top ten list!
1. Chris Carter
Anyone who follows me on Twitter (or has ever been to a bookshop with me) will know that I’m a massive fan of Chris and his work. I randomly picked up one of his books, The Night Stalker, on a holiday back in 2010 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love fast-paced thrillers and his books never, ever disappoint. They’re a bit on the gory side so I know they might not be for everyone, but I love everything he writes and the characters he created in the Robert Hunter series.
2. Sharon Bolton
Another talented crime writer, and another person who excels at genuine page-turners. I fell in love with Bolton’s writing with Now You See Me – something I came across on NetGalley a couple of years ago – and I’ve loved every other books she’s written since. She’s brilliant at creating a dark, eerie atmosphere for her books and keeping you in the dark until the very end.
3. Cat Clarke
Slightly different genre, but another talented writer with a list of unputdownable stories. I read Undone after Jesse’s glowing review at the beginning of last year, and it’s been one of my favourite YA novels ever since. Needless to say, the first thing I did after finishing the book was pop into Foyles and buy all the other books she’s written – she’s that good.
